The Best Value For Money Is In Used Cars
The car industry is at a very integral crossroads in its century-long life span. There have been many peaks and troughs throughout the decades, but huge advances have been made in expansion and technological development. Things have hit another snag recently with the current economic climate having a immeasurable effect on new car production. The public claim the prices are too high. The manufacturers cannot afford to employ workers. Plants close down. It is a story we have seen before during previous recessions, particularly in the 1980’s, but even seasoned Economists cannot predict the worsening effect of recession on the car market.
One fact remains; people need cars. This is the one motto that could potentially keep the international car market’s head above water. This ongoing need for automotive solutions has manifested itself in a veritable boom for the Used Car market. Whilst analysis shows that new car searches on Google aren’t as bad as sales would suggest, used car searches make very good reading. There may be hope for the country’s dealers yet!
The consuming public are notoriously cagey with the Used Car market. The reputation for rip-off merchants turning the mileage clocks back on their used car stock has lingered like a bad smell over the industry for a long time and regaining trust has been a long hard journey. Through years of honest trading, happy customers and an economically enforced necessity, the Used Car market is experiencing a renaissance of sorts.
The pick of the bunch is Sytner Used Audi, who have recently been lauded for providing excellent quality Used cars with extremely competitive pricing. Audi themselves are enjoying a lasting patch of favourable reviews for their latest vehicles and the Audi TT is a consistently popular seller on the forecourts. Haven’t Insured Your Vehicle? You Might Want To
Anyone who drives on national roads with having proper cover is not only doing so illegally but is risking everything. Despite this, around one in ten UK and US drivers are still on our roads without it and put everyone around them at risk. Lets us examine what exactly you could be facing if you make the choice to drive without being fully insured.
Penalties. If you get found without insurance there are a number of different penalty options that you can have thrown at you depending on where you are driving. One of the most common penalties is getting points put onto your licence, which will then cause you premiums to increase, may effect other types of insurance you have and can even cause employment issues. For example, if you want to take a driving job, you will more than likely need to have completely clean licence. In most cases a fine will be slapped on your as well, which unfortanatly will more certainly be a greater amount that your insurance premiums would have been. If you are an employer and you don’t have lets say business vans insurance for example, you may even lose your whole fleet of vehicles.
Damage. If you are unfortunate enough to be involved in vehicle accident and you don’t have insurance, the fees for damage caused will take your breath away. If the accident is your fault then you will have to pay for not only your own vehicles damage but the damage done to every other vehicle involved. Environmental costs can be imposed on you also for things like damage to road signs and even plant life.
Medical expenses. If the worst should happen and you are involved in an accident that is your fault and causes people to suffer injuries, you’ll soon have some big extra costs to face. Medical fees tend to spiral quite rapidly and can go on for years after the accident when people claim for ongoing physio or operation costs. At the end of the day it is really a lot cheaper to get insurance in the first place, as opposed to facing the inevitable fees

What You Need to Know Before Getting Your Car Repair
If you were handed an estimate to replace a water pump on your auto, would you know if the price was fair? Could you trust the price? What about for a tie rod end, mass air flow sensor, or an evaporative emissions sensor?
Most of us do not know what these are, never mind the price. Yet it is parts like these that are frequently used to over charge you, the vehicle correct customer.
We no longer live in a time of trust, so how can we make sure that our car repair costs are legitimate.
How many times have you had a suspicion that you paid too much, but couldn’t prove it? How often did the price seem exorbitant for even straightforward repairs?
To illustrate just how “At Risk” the common-or-garden automobile repair client is to excessive car repair prices, here’s a is a current real life example from a “reputable?” dealer.
A client brought her Audi to a permitted Audi dealership for the standard timing belt maintenance service.
The price for this service averages $1575 at the dealership level, (including pulleys, water pumpetc ) and about $1275 at the independent correct shop level.
Yet the woman left the dealer with a bill for $2025.68.
What happened?
According to the fix order, there were no abnormal circumstances, no issues spotted by the technician such as rust or any other extenuating circumstances that would have maybe increased the work, or added extra parts.
In short, it definitely was a straight forward service, but the bill was $450.68 higher than it should have been. There is simply no legitimate reason to have “that much” discrepancy.
How’d they get away with it?
The answer is very simple, and it’s a point that I don’t want any one to miss:
They get away with it because they can!
Think about it. The average person does not know how much automobile parts cost. And who knows how much work time a correct should take? To what sources does one turn to find out this information? Who even has the time to investigate!
Upon investigation of this woman’s repair order, it was found that she was charged a full 4 hours “more” than the standard labor time. At $100 an hour, this added an additional $400. The leftover $50.68 came from the parts, which were billed higher than MSRP.
She was quoted $2,025 for a correct that tops out at $1575. The lady failed to know. She just paid the bill and left.
How many times do people just settle up and leave? Just about that is all one can do given that there’s no accessible information for the auto fix shopper to adequately query a correct bill. Similarly , only a few even know what questions to ask!
The auto repair industry has been over-charging for decades-sometimes subtly, sometimes confidently, definitely frequently. The proof for this is overwhelming; yet, there are no easy solutions available for the vehicle fix customer.
Government agencies can not help. The Better Business Bureau cannot do anything. Even supposed “car repair experts or advocates” lack the knowledge of the breadth and insidiousness of the automobile correct business at all its levels.
A dealership operates differently than an independent repair shop, and a franchise, like Midas, is absolutely unique. Who truly knows what goes on in the underground of such a various and complex industry?
The Solution?
First and foremost, vehicle fix consumers need access to information on auto fix costs. Without this, they’ve got nothing real in which to figure out fair charges. They also need to be able to navigate the maze of parts and labor charges for car repairs and maintenance.
Like the rest, information is the key to ensure fair treatment. Without it, the auto correct buyer will continue to “swim with the sharks” without any protection.

Getting Finance for Your New Audi
When attempting to find Audi vehicle finance it is worthwhile going online and getting several quotes with the aid of a specialist site. A consultant vehicle finance internet site will have access to those lenders who specialise in financing Audi cars and so are likely to get the least expensive IRs and best deal on your behalf.
A normal loan or hire purchase as it is also called may be employed for finance for your new or used Audi, this is the simplest of all finance techniques and needs you to put down a deposit against the automobile and then pay each month repayments over the period of time stated. Once you made the payments then the car is yours, hire purchase is also called a secured loan and the car is the safety for the money you are borrowing, if you need to default on the payments then the vehicle can be taken back. An alternative system is to take out a private loan, however this option would perhaps only be to your advantage if you are purchasing a 2nd hand car and do not have to borrow a large amount.
If purchasing a new car or have a very bad credit rating then you might take out a secured loan, however the majority of secured loans will require that you put your house up as security if you are borrowing a large amount and wish to make repayment over a longer term. It is vital that you ensure you can afford to repay a loan which is secured by your house as falling behind on the payments means the roof over your head is at risk.
Another option when it comes to Audi auto finance is to go for personal contract purchase. This option asks that you pay an one-off sum on the vehicle and then spread the monthly low payments over a time period. Once the agreement comes to a close you then have to pay the balance left superb on the car. You do have other options, you can opt to trade the vehicle in or give it back and you will owe nothing. A very similar option is credit purchase, however with this option you have no choice but to find the money to pay what’s left on the balance due.
An Audi automobile finance specialist will be offering the cheapest rates for all types of loans and a specialist website will be ready to gather quotes together so all you should do is check them. However when it comes to comparing for the best deals you have to make sure that you have first read the small print and know about any additional hidden costs the loan. Together with the key facts will highlight the key facts will highlight the rate may pay and how much in total the loan will pay and how much in total the loan will cost, in the case of personal contract purchase it will also show how much will be left outstanding.

Smog Test Essentials For Your Cars
In our day and age, the automobile is one of life's necessities right up there with food and shelter. And with our current economy, most people are keeping their cars longer.
Well when this happens and your car gets older, there are some things about your car's maintenance you are going to have to become aware of. I have learned them from owning a San Diego Smog Check shop
One of those things is the time your car needs a smog test. Until your car hits seven years old, most people don't even think about it.
But beware, if you fail the smog test, what could of been a simple $50 smog test could suddenly become a $300-$400 repair.
When you need your vehicle to pass a smog test so you can renew your vehicle registration, here are some tips you can take so your inexpensive smog test, can pass with flying colors.
So before you visit a smog test San Diego only center follow these tips.
First, make sure your vehicle is running right. If you feel the vehicle is not running right, immediately take it to a auto repair shop and have them find out what is wrong. Then have it fixed before your smog test.
Second, is an easy one but necessary, take your car for a drive.Remeber when you are trying to pass the smog check, you vehicle's burning of the fuel needs to be efficient and produce as little smog as possible. Well when your car is not properly warmed up, it may not have proper combustion. If that does happen, you have a high chance of failing.Just take it for a drive for 15 minutes or so and you will get your car to run optimally when it is taken in.
Third, add fuel additives. You do this whenever you fill your car up with gas.You just add some to the gas in the gas tank. What's going to happen is this gets the emmission levels lower because it cleans the intake of your car and exhaust paths. This gives the fuel and air the ability to flow freely.
Fourth, your tires need to be inflated to the proper pressure. This little known tip helps your car drive more smoothly and more accurately during the smog check. This improves the overall emmissions output by helping the engine maintain a steady load.
Finally, have your oil changed. If your engine oil needs to be changed and is contaminated, this could very well cause you to fail your smog test. Contaminated oils are high in hydrocarbons and that could cause the failed test.
Follow these tips about your car and you stand a good chance of passing with flying colors the smog test. Take it from my experience running a San Diego auto repair service shop.

Learn the History of Porsche
Ferdinand Porsche was a car engineer with more than one thousand patents to his name, and played an important role in the development of planes and the development of tanks for the Wehrmacht too. In the 1920s he was appointed chief engineer at Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart and later set up his own engineering workshop. There he designed, among other things, the Volkswagen. He acted as chief of operations at the plant where the Volkswagen was made, Wolfsburg, and at the end of the war he was interned by the Allies.
He was released a few years on and right away went to work building his first auto with his boy, Ferry Porsche. This car was named the Porsche 356, after Ferry, and was a sports auto with styling reminiscent of the Volkswagen. In fact it had the same four-cylinder boxer engine, and wore it rear-mounted, just as the VW did. This meant that it was far from being a robust sports car, boasting a mere 40 bhp and a maximum speed of 87 mph (140 km/h). Distinguished by its elegant and innovative body, the Porsche 356 was first produced as a convertible and then as a hard top. Father and son developed it in the workshop of Erwin Komenda, a master of restrained streamlining who had been in charge of sheet metal and design techniques for Ferdinand Porsche since the VW Beetle. This new style of closed coupe since the embodiment of the sports car, due in part to its “fastback”.
Erwin Komenda and Ferdinand “Butzi” Porsche, the founder’s grandson, continued this tradition with the 911.
The 911 became instantly recognizable: it had an attractive sloping bonnet Porsche, the 356, what later became characterized as “frog eye” headlights, curves running from the top edge of the windscreen to the rear bumper, and a straight waistline. From a functional and technical point of view it shared more in common with a BMW from the leading edge of the windscreen to The new 911 became the keystone of Porsche’s identity, even though the design was not always fully appreciated. During the 1970′s and 1980′s, many Porsche designers attempted to distance Porsche from its legendary design and nearly brought the company to the edge of Porsche’s identity, though The more modern 924 model, “a people’s Porsche”, developed with Volkswagen, as well as the 928 fell short fulfilling expectations, and failed to allow the company to branch out in the company to the 1990′s the company seemed to realize that what some perceived as a stylistic straitjacket was in fact a market advantage. During this period Porsche embraced the timeless nature of classic styling to become highly profitable. Nearly forty people now worked in the design department solely dedicated to further improvement of the long running 911. Such developments included the 911 GTI, put forward by the in-house designer Anthony R. Hatter as a undying nature of sports and racing car. In 1999, Porsche’s chief designer proudly unveiled the new Boxster, enabling Porsche to establish a second independent range of successful models.

Safety First with Brakes
There are a lot of parts to your car you need to keep an eye on. In this day and age of cars having everything automated, a lot of times maintenance of your car gets neglected. Believe me I have seen it all owning a San Diego auto repair shop.
After all cars that were considered economic cars like Hyundai’s, are now state of the art machines, it’s not that hard to think nothing goes wrong.
That is a big mistake. There are still going to be parts of your car that need to be paid attention to and maintained. Most car owners usually do take care of oil changes. Although that is important for the life of your car, what most people neglect is their brakes. Which is important to the life of themselves and their family.
So let’s take a look at your brakes and knowing when it is time to change them because they have become unsafe.
The first symptom is when there is grinding or scratching you need to replace your brakes. Usually this is a sign of the metal plates being gone that are supposed to hold the brake pads and now it rubs against the rotor. This is a bad sign and you definitely need to replace your brakes immediately.
Second thing you can look for is high pitch noises your brakes make or a loud screeching. This is caused by a condition called glazed. This happens when a person constantly does excessive braking causing the rotors to get too hot. The rotors are then burned.
You fix this by going to a brake shop like my San Diego brake shop.
A third problem is vibrations. When your rotors or drums are warped, when you are braking this will cause a vibration. This happens when their is too much heat and this causesthem to lose their shape. When this happens, your rotor needs to be replaced.
The last problem to take notice of is when your brakes start to pull. What happens is when you brake, your vehicle pulls in one direction. This occurs when the brake calipers are not being applied evenly. This happens due to a fluid leak. To know which side is leaking, you need to have a professional look at it. You take care of this by having the caliper replaced and getting all the air out of the brakes.
These are the common problems with brakes. When this does happen you need a shop that fixes brakes like we fix San Diego brakes.
When you realize it’s your brakes that stop you from accidents, you never want to neglect this part of your car’s maintenance.
