Chrysler might be feeling some discomfort in the USA, but overseas they are realizing some fantastic results. According to a Chrysler speaker, world sales are up 14 percent thru Aug of 2006 with 15 straight months of month-to-month increases. The news is even better in Western Europe. Chrysler reported an increase of 35.6% in August 2006 compared to the performance from a year ago, and a sales increase of 15.5% for the YTD thru Aug 2006. According to JATO Dynamics, a market information company, Jeep sales were up 25% in Europe thru Aug compared to 2005, lots of the increase because of the glorious performances of the new Grand Cherokee and Chief . These electrifying sales results have made Chrysler the second quickest growing automotive group in Europe, second only to Fiat, and Chrysler forecasts that world sales will account for 9% of total sales by 2007.

Looking at the sales numbers it’s simple to see why the people at Chrysler were happy about the unveiling of their production version of the two-door Jeep Wrangler and four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for the first time in Europe at the lately held Paris Motor Show. If it is actually possible to fall in love with a vehicle, I suspect that I have fallen head-over-heels for the Chrysler Sebring convertible.  This trendy car is the perfect beauty in design and performance.  The graceful class has a modern edge but the Chrysler Sebring convertible has a classic appeal that almost any car enthusiast really appreciates. 

I’m in no way a collector of fine automobiles but I do know a classy car when I see one.  The first time I looked at a Chrysler Sebring convertible I knew I had to get behind the wheel.  This car offers personality and style but I marvelled if it offered performance too. 

The Chrysler company has offered me great driving experiences in the past.  I used to have a P.T.  Cruiser and I loved driving that auto for several years.  I knew that the company offered great quality and superb design as well .  The Chrysler Sebring convertible was on my mind but I had to test it out first. 

Naturally, I didn’t want to let go of my Cruiser.  This car has been so good to me over the years but now that I’m living in a warmer climate, I wish to let the top down and go on the road feeling carefree.  The convertible P.T.  Cruisers on the market just didn’t look right to me but the Chrysler Sebring convertible did. 

I made a decision that a try out was in order.  I hated to let my Cruiser go but I also knew that it was time for a change.  After all , I got a new job and a new life in a Southern state.  My Cruiser was superb for my life up north but the Chrysler Sebring convertible was ideal for my new life in the south. 
When I entered the dealership the salesman knew that he was going to be selling an auto that day.  Within 5 mins of driving the Chrysler Sebring convertible I offered an enormous yes to the deal.  The price was right and the auto was beyond perfect.  The smooth driving vehicle felt powerful and free and I could not wait to put the 1st mile on my own model. 

There were a few colors available and I had a hard time selecting between a shiny black or a silver model.  I mostly wanted a black automobile but the weather up north left these colored vehicles grubby and covered in salt.  Silver was better for a northerly vehicle.  For that terribly reason, I selected a Chrysler Sebring convertible in deep black.  It was the perfect change for my new life.

Mitsubishi have begun delivery production versions of their i-MiEv electric car to select customers.

Other customers around the world will see their cars being delivered next year for an April release date. The car manufacturer is selling the car for 34,000 euros and are beginning to take orders next month.

The car comes with a 64 hp electric engine fitted into the back of the car. The engine is powered by a lithium ion battery that gives you 160 kilometres of driving time before being drained. As for the speed, you should be able to reach 130 kmph using the lithium battery.

After you have drained all of your 130 kilometres, you will have to wait another 7 hours for the battery to be fully charged again. However, you can do a quick charge which has been said to charge it yo 80% in just 30 minutes, not sure why it takes 7 hours for a full charge.

Although the car is relatively small in size at only 3.4 metres in length and a tight 2.5 metres in width, it can still hold 4 people. It also features air conditioning to keep your passengers cool, aswell as a navigation and entertainement system.

The new i-MiEv is definately not the cheapest car at 34,000 euros (29,000 pounds or 47,000 dollars). However, I suppose if you really do care alot about the environment, then you won’t worry too much about the cost.

You will definately be able to get a ride in this car for a cheaper method. By getting a Mitsubishi lease out for this car you often pay less because you don’t buy the entire car. This is the same with any other car maker I must add, whether you want a Chrysler lease or a eco friendly Mitsubishi. Although, when you think that the i-MiEv doesn’t need petrol, it sounds even cheaper to lease.

Ford has released details that it has seen improvements in it’s market share of the US. The US car manufacturer announced that they sold 155,954 vehicles in May. Although this figure is down 24% from the same month last year, it’s actually a 20% increase on last months sales.

The increase in sales that Ford have seen could be down to the other car manufacturers such as Chrysler and General Motors who have both recently files for bankruptcy.

General Motors announced their figures the day after they filed for bankruptcy. They reported 191,875 vehicles sales last month which is a 30% drop on May 2008 sales, however, this is an 11% rise on last months sales. The worst performance in sales come from Hummer, Saab, Saturn and Pontiac, all of which GM are planning on selling on.

As for Chrysler, they filed for bankruptcy on April 30th and announced that they saw 79,010 sales from May which is a 47% decrease in US sales from the same month in 2008. They said that the majority of their sales have been down to a price cut from a huge number of dealers, this is because 789 dealers are planning to stop selling Chrysler cars next week.

Ford is currently in the process of changing their production strategy to try and take advantage of the bankruptcy situation. Ford have planned to put an extra 52,000 vehicles into production during the next 2 quarters.

The majority of car manufacturers have seen a drop in sales during the economic downturn, however, the drop in sales is not all down to a drop in public sales. Corporate sales have also been on the decrease, companies that offer Ford leasing aswell as a number of other makes such as Peugeot leasing are buying less cars because they are being hit by the credit crunch.
