The Scoop

Being the last of the luxury automakers to roll out a convertible model gave Lexus the benefit of learning from its competitors’ experiences.  The retracting, three-piece metal hardtop opens in just twenty seconds.  The motion of opening or closing the convertible top doesn’t make the same thumping sounds as other comparable droptops.  The smooth agility of the convertible top’s motion can be attributed to a complicated system that contains fifteen electric motors and 37 motion sensors that monitor movement of the top. According to Lexus, the IS 250C is the fastest-opening convertible of its type in the world. One of the points that work in this car's favour vs the competition is space in the boot and rear seats.

In terms of body, it’s all a matter of style. As ever the styling is up for debate. But the rear does look a little inflated.Models from the same range typically share a lot of body panels. Not so for the IS250C where only the hood is shared with the sedan.  All other body panels were created specifically for the IS 250C.

In terms of engineering, the goal was to uphold the IS sedan's driving performance while still providing an excellent driving experience, whether it’s being driven topless or not.  The IS 250C has been engineered to put forward minimal wind turbulence when driving with the top down and extensive revisions to the body structure and suspension impart the right degree of torsional rigidity to ensure a level of ride comfort appropriate for a Lexus. By adding two major cross beams Lexus is attempting to maintain structural rigidity of this convertible. One of them has been neatly placed under the rear seat while the other is beinh the headrests.

Two model grades are available – SE-I and SE-L – of which the cheaper SE-I is estimated to be the leading seller. The Lexus IS 250C SE-I starts at $39,660, and of course it includes the royal butler-levels of care and attentiveness from the dealer that Lexus is famous for.

U.S. See Arrival of New Lexus Hybrid Car

Toyota has announced that they expect to sell around 25,000 of their all new hybrid Lexus car in the United States for the first year.

Toyota has revealed their new hybrid car the Lexus HS250 Hybrid which is due for launch this summer in the U.S. The new Lexus HS250 is the first dedicated hybrid car that’s part of, Toyota’s luxury car make, Lexus. However, it’s not their first hybrid car, Toyota had huge success with their first hybrid car, the Prius, which was launched in the US in 2000.

Even though no details on price have been released, the new Lexus HS250 Hybrid is not going to be cheap. Maybe a lexus lease option would be a cheaper alternative.

Since the release of the Prius back in 2000, Toyota has controlled the hybrid U.S. market by selling over 1 million hybrid cars and holding over 75% of the hybrid market. All of those hybrid car sales have accounted for half of Toyota’s worldwide hybrid car sales.

Toyota also released new 3rd generation Prius car in the US earlier this Spring which expected to reach 180,000 sales within the first year. Certainly a great deal more than the new Lexus hybrid car.

Although they may have forcasted these figures, whether they actually achieve them is another matter. Even though the amount of car sales in May rose from the previous month, the amount of sales in the U.S. since the start of the year has dropped by 36%. Some more bad news for the manufacturer is that the amount of hybrid car sales is dropping. This is becayse although fuel prices rose by large amounts last summer, since the beginning of the year they have dropped considerably.

This price drop has meant that the amount of gasoline car sales has risen because a hybrid car is generally around $4000 more than a hybrid car.

That aside, Toyota are still hopeful that their new hybrid cars will do well because they believe that the US car market in improving and that the demand for hybrid cars will also improve. Toyota might be relying alot on the car lease market. With the current credit crunch, many new car buyers are choosing to lease a car instead of buying their own new one.

Get a Economic Car

People are just fascinated with huge vehicles, even if they are struggling with money they still go out and get one. But as times change and as we get caught up in probably one of the worst economic crisis situations we have been in for decades, we have to look at cutting back

Recently it was stated by Liverpool Victoria that nineteen percent of drivers were downgrading their vehicles. There are some apparent facts as to why people are choosing to go smaller, so lets take a brief look.

1) The cost of fuel is always on the rise people are looking to save by effectively buying smaller engine motors.
2) Cars with huge engines are ultimatley going to cost more to tax and insure.
3) To service or get a new wheel on an expensive motor it will end up costing a bomb.

People just adore cars so much, I used to see family and friends just buy a new vehicle every year. But I feel that now is the time to cut back simply because we are in the midst of a huge credit crunch. Most people get their new cars on finance, so even that is harder to achieve.

The vehicle sector is probably the industry that is suffering the most, so people just have to accept that driving a huge car is a thing of the past. There is no way that even the richest person can just pop out a buy a Mazda or buy a Lexus. We all just have to be strong and tighten our belts and wait for the economic downturn to get better.
