How Would We Do Without The Van?

The invention of the van is a lot more important than people first think. People use the van for so many different things from transporting goods to storage of tools for unique trades. What would all these people do without the vans they currently have?

A lot of businesses would have never come into existance as without the vans they could not operate.

The Good Ol Fashioned Delivery Firms

Delivery company's such as UPS and Parcel Force would find it very hard to cope indeed, can you imagine the Royal Mail. They find it hard to deliver things on time as it is at the moment can you imagine would the Royal Mail would be like without their all important red vans? Nothing would be recieved anywhere. UPS and Parcel Force would be non existent as they specialize in the larger packages and without their vans it would become very difficult to deliver such things.

Music Comes To An End?

Well it wouldn’t be an end to music all together but we would see a huge drop in artists simply because the van is the cheapest and easiest way for beginner bands to transport their band equipment to the various locations that they need to be at.

The Positive Side??

The van is one of the most commonly used vehicles for a criminal and is used for kidnapping, theft and abductions. Would this affect the number of crimes that are committed?

The real question to ask here is, why do you not just drive a lorry? Time and money come into it as you have to take another driving test before you are qualified to drive a lorry. On top of all of this there are many roads in which lorries can not fit down which is one of the many reasons the van came into existance.

Conclusion

Without the van around to help out a lot of people it would become clear a lot of people would not be working.

Small van leasing as well as  commercial  contract hire and van contract hire have further helped van users to save money when thinking about a new van.

Green Vans Are Out To General Public

Now that cars have gone green in the form of the Hybrid car there are now many vans that are being made in a similar way. The real question is, what can these vans actually do for us?

It can be said that most van owners are sole traders or work for a big company with loads of vans at their disposal. Of course a lot of these companies will not just go in and sell their thousands of vans to replace them with these but if they do a few at a time then they could really start saving in the long run on fuel. If bugger companies changed many of their vans to the greener ones then they would be saving a lot of money each year.

If you are just starting a business then look into getting one of these greener vans because it could save you a bit of money when you need it. It cna certainly be said that having one of these vans could really give you a helping hand in the long run. If you are just a sole trader then getting a brand new van is nearly always impossible however the government have introduced ways in which you can get a lot of money for trading in. It is certainly something that will svae on those fuel bills.

If you are already driving one of thse vans then you are certainly working to save the environment which is good as we all need to be doing everythign we can. The world needs more people to start picking up green vans and cars before it will really make much of a difference. It really is possible to make a difference if a lot of people get together and do it.

commercial vehicle leasing has certainly been something that has been out there for a long time now. Whether or not Fiat van leasing and Iveco van leasing are going to get involved with green things but if there is a demand for them then expect it.

Rock Groups Would Be Nowhere Without A Van

Next time you are going to a gig in which the band you are seeing are relatively unknown then take a little peek around the back as you will almost certainly see a small van as the band will use this to transport their things. But just how important is a van the group?

Dogs were thrown out in the early days of touring as the van became the best friend to many groups simply because they are cheap and easy to run. The reason why the big bands have the huge tour buses is because they have the money to do so or they get sponsered by big companies who know they will get money out of it. A lot of the smaller groups are not able to gain access to the big tour buses because sponsors are only interested in making a return from their investment.

Most of the time the van is actually borrowed from a family member or friend of the van but sometimes they all chip in to buy the van outright. Once again is can be very difficult to buy a van outright even if there are three or more people paying for it so more often than not bands will look into van leasing UK because it works out cheaper.

The band then have any damages or accidents covered too so they do not have to take out any extra things they do not need like the band that took out pick up truck leasing just to cover them if the worst case scenario happened.

Although cheap van leasing is likely to be the best option for your band, it is also possible to get a van to run on vegetable oil which of course will save the band on fuel costs. You will need to take at least a trailer full of the oil with you as there are no refuel stations as yet where you can load up on the stuff.

Best Ways To Wreck A Van

Here is just a small list on the best ways to totally wreck a van. By no means is this article supposed to encourage this kind of behaviour it is only here as a joke and none of these are recommended unless you are a professional in crashing a van.

Blow It Up

The ways in which you can blow up a van are almost endless which is why it is a great first point! Using TNT is a good idea because believe it or not it is safe because you can detonate it from a distance. Perhaps forwarding this list onto a TV show like Brainiac might be something that is worthwhile. Other things you could perhaps use include a grenade, machine gun or even shooting the gas tank.

Roll It Over

This is one of the hardest ones to do without getting hurt because you really have to be driving it for it to happen. Many films feature vans rolling over, toppling down a hill or something along these lines. The important thing to remember is that most of the time it is a model and when it isn’t the van is designed to be rolled and not hurt the driver in anyway. If you were to roll over a normal van then whoever is driving is pretty much dead.

Why not drive into something

This has to be the biggest way to destroy a van simply because there are so many van crashes across the world every single day.  Many people are killed because of this and although vans are designed to stop death in the event of a crash the design will not protect you in the event of a real crash. This is something that should be left to the dummies.

So there you have it, just a few things you shouldn’t do with your contract hire vans. Commercial vehicle leasing and contract van leasing companies would not be interested in giving you cheaper deals if you are planning to do these things.

Of course you really shouldn’t attempt any of this because “You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!”

Why Do Police Look Out For White Vans?

It would seem that the white van is the main van that the police track for criminal activity but why is this?

Well to start with, over the past few years the white van has been the accomplice to many criminals from burglaries and theft to abductions and even rape. Why is it that so many criminals choose a white van over the thousands of other vehicles out there?

Well over the years the vehicle of the criminal has changed and it would seem that the modern times have chosen the white van. Here are some of the vehicles that have been top of the criminals most wanted list over the past century.

Ford V8 B-400

This is of course the most famous of the criminal cars because it was the model that the famous outlaws Bonnie and Clyde used to rob banks, small stores and gas stations. This car is was also very popular with the mafia at the time so it has to be the top of the list really.

1966 Chevrolet Impala

This was the choice of a very deadly killer that was never found way back in the 60′s. The killer has not been found and the car still stays hidden too so he is either very clever or sat somewhere very far away. He only preyed on people that were inside cars, a bit strange. It was reported by several victims and also drawn out several times. He murdered five people and attempted to do it to another seven.

So as you can see the vehicles that criminals choose are ever changing and it is only so long before the criminal chooses another one over the white van. The van seems to be chosen because it is suitable for any criminal activity which is the only downside to the vehicle.

The plus side to vans is a much better one, they help thousands of people and businesses across the world every single day. commercial van leasing has helped even further by providing affordable means of getting hold of a van. fiat van leasing and Volkswagen van leasing are just some of the options out there to choose from.

Aavans.com Crash Testing Wheelchair Vans

Aavans.com Crash Testing and Wheelchair Vans

The mobility industry is an interesting one, for many reasons, but mainly because it’s somewhat elusive. What I mean is that information is sometimes difficult to gather.   For this post, I will concentrate on crash testing because it is interesting to look at differences between buying a regular vehicle and buying a converted van for wheelchair accessibility.

When you shop for a regular vehicle, let’s say a Honda Odyssey minivan, do you question whether the vehicle has passed all the government safety requirements?  Probably not, I never have.I have purchased 4 cars in my life and never once asked if the vehicle had been crash tested.  It is something I think the majority of us just assume, that the vehicle we are buying has been crash tested, and has passed.

Did you know that all modifiers of vehicles, like VMI, have to re-crash the vans we build after they are modified.  Since we change the structure of the original vehicle, by cutting off the floor, NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) requires the van be crash tested again.

When you are shopping for wheelchair accessible vans, ensure the van you are looking at passes all NHTSA crash test requirements. This especially becomes important when shopping the manufacturers who sell wheelchair vans direct and don’t use a network of Mobility Equipment Dealers. How do you verify that these companies have passed all federal regulations in terms of crash testing the van?  I would first contact NMEDA (National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association) and determine what is required.  I would then contact the manufacturer of the van you are looking at purchasing and ask them

Vans Are Important For Mail

Without the big red vans the postal service would be in an even bigger state than it already is which is saying something. The Royal mail seems to be in complete ruins so the question to ask is, how on earth do they manage to deliver all of the mail on a normal day, let alone the day in which they are on strike. Here is how it is really meant to work.

Well what is supposed to happen is that the postman will receive a load of letters and parcels to deliver to the various roads he has been assigned to. When he gets to a certain point in his route one of the famous red postal vans will show up. When the van pulls up the driver will unload the next lot of mail for the worker to use in the next lot of roads he needs to deliver in. Why is it that it is never on time?

Time is actually very important here as they start later. Postman are not allowed to start as early as they used too which is partly why we do not get our post until at the very earliest 1pm every single day. This is actually rather terrible as in the old days you used to recieve two lots of post in the same day. This was actuallythe entire purpose of 1st and 2nd mail. The 1st was designed to always get to you before you left to go to work in the morning.

It is considered lucky to have the post before you get home from work nowadays.

With more postal strikes occurring, businesses have finally realised that the Royal Mail are not up to the job. The Queen is still sticking to her guns and sending post out via the Royal Mail but does anyone actually care what she thinks?

Would it be easier for smaller company’s to look into getting van leasing UK or van contract hire to get ahead of the Royal Mail? Commercial vehicle leasing has allowed many people to start up businesses because it would seem it is cheaper than buying the vehicle outright.

Cartoonists Love Putting In Vans (Part 2)

So continuing the list of the famous cartoon characters that have either driven, ridden or been hit by a van are the next few toons that have made a big impact on the world over the last few years.

These cartoons actually compete with each other for viewings and ratings and it really is up to you on which one you like the most. There haven’t been many van appearances in them but when there have, they have been pretty funny.

News Van- Simpsons

Kent Brockman is the newsreader from the Simpsons that has a lot to do with vans because the company obviousy own a news van. Although he doesn’t actually drive the van he has a lot to do with it as the guys in the back are the ones providing him with all of the quirky comments that he apparently comes up with himself.

The Police Van- Family Guy

The van has only ever featured in one episode of the series and was used to listen in on a conversation between Lois and an ex. Peter is of course thinking that Lois is having an afair with her ex when in reality she has just gone to the local coffee shop for a drink. Peter joins the conversation half way through and catches something that sounds bad when of course it really isn’t.

Ice-Cream Van- South Park

For this one I could mention various vans that have been in the series but thought the best one would be this. The van has only ever appeared in one episode and in the episode did not manage to serve ice-cream but to kill Kenny.

There it is, the best cartoons vans that have ever come into existance. Let us just hope that these toons looked into commercial van leasing for their vans to save a bit of money. Van contract hire could actually be a better way to use a van as it is a lot cheaper than buying one outright.

Vans In Cartoons (Part 1)

Believe it or not there are actually many famous cartoon characters that own a van and some of them are actually tuned into by millions of people with every new episode. Some of which are past jewels that have not really seen any real success in a long while and of course some of them are just simply made for the kids. Here are the ones that came into my head first.

The Infamous Mystery Machine

This has to be the top van out of all of the cartoon vans. In terms of putting a van inside a cartoon this is the one that really kicked it off. All of this kicked off in 1969 with the original series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! The show is of course still running and apprently the need for teenage mystery solving gangs has not fallen at all in the forty years. The monster always seems to be someone in disguise, where are the real monsters!. It is wondered if the gang have this van on Van lease

Postman Pat’s Van

This is more of a stop-motion feature than a cartoon but it has to be mentioned as it is certainly the most famous van to be made by somebody here in Britain It was first screened in 1981 and a newer series was made for 2006. This show was aimed mainly at the younger age group and both me and all of my friends were big fans when we were younger. The brilliant thing about Postman Pat is that he is the only Postman able to deliver the post on time!

Cheap vehicle contracts is something that these toons must have had in mind when purchasing these vans.

Part two of this will actually feature toons from the Family Guy and South Park series, which has the best van. Small van leasing is key for the next part.

Vans Are Taking Over

Many more people are now looking into buying a new van nowadays. It would seem that over the past ten years the sale of vans here in the UK has gone up quite a lot, 40% in fact, but how come?

Could it be to do with the fact that there is much more cheap van leasing going on than there used to be or is it something else?

Well a major reason that we have seen a massive growth in the sales of vans is because there are more and more companies that are in need of them. Another reason why the van sales are on the increase is simply down to the fact that the big companies are always in need of more, companies like parcelforce are always getting more in. The same can really be applies to any kind of company delivering something.

Some of the vans increase can actually be put down to the fact e-commerce sites have been on the rise. You can also blame the Royal Mail for all of this because they are incapable of delivering a letter on time let alone packages,. So the need for vans goes up even more.

They are selling more than ever at the moment because the companies have a bigger budget for their vans. More companies are being set up that will let people get into Citroen van leasing and Iveco van leasing which is actually cheaper than buying a van.

The yare very practical with multiple seats in many of them and are very godo because they can transfer a lot of goods in one trip. The problem is that vans are also associated with many crimes such a kidnapping and burglary and both of these have been on the increase too.

The majority of vans are of course used for the right reasons and with “greener” vans on the horizon they can only really continue to grow.
